The absorption and emission spectroscopic studies of monomeric and polymeric lanthanide compounds in solutions and as crystals, especially the vibronic coupling observed in electronic spectra at low temperatures.
The mechanism of electron-phonon coupling and the contribution of different mechanisms to the intensity of lines observed in the absorption spectra.
The parameters, determined on the basis of the absorption spectra (? and ?) and their variations for different lanthanide coordination compounds, which can be used to investigate and to compare the nature of metal-ligand bond, especially for metal carboxylates, because of the application of lanthanide carboxylates as catalyst precursors. The catalytic properties of these compounds depend on the character of lanthanide–carboxylate oxygen bond.
Lanthanide halides as well as the elpasolite type crystals, which play significant role both in fundamental investigations and in several areas of practical applications, for example, in linear and non – linear optics.
